Stobbs

When this project landed in my inbox, my first thought was that there was no way I could pull off a South Park–style animation like this. Still, I put on a brave face and took on the challenge. The script, written by Nick from Founders Makers, looked daunting at first and I knew it would push me outside my comfort zone.

The illustration style had already been defined by Stobb’s in-house artist, but we needed to expand the world by designing new characters and building out all the backgrounds. I brought in support from intern Luke, cell animator Rory and compositor Johnny Green Teeth. Together we created one of our most ambitious and chaotic animations yet, full of energy, extremes and humour.
