Yesterday, my Out of Office was on — for a good reason.

I spent the day volunteering with the incredibly talented James Daw, helping him paint a huge mural on the old Nike outlet in Hackney. This building, just around the corner from my flat, has been transformed into artistics work spaces, but until recently, it had become a “wall of fame” for graffiti artists.

It felt good to contribute to something that brightens up my local area. Plus, stepping away from the screen and spending hours painting colourful shapes was surprisingly therapeutic.

Not to brag, but this is my second volunteering day this year — and every time I do it, I’m reminded how rewarding it is.

I’m curious — do you make time for volunteering? What causes or projects do you get involved in? I'd love to hear.
